Customer Focussed Selling?

Too often we focus on what we want to say or sell, not what our customers want to hear. But for success these two must line-up whether we're selling products, sharing information or delivering services.

Too often we call on customers, batter them with our sales lines, sell our benefits, leave and expect them to commit to business. Some do, but many are not available next time you call!  It may have worked in the past, but does that mean we can't improve our current performance?

What would happen if our customers wanted to see us and wanted to hear more?

During his time in the pharmaceutical industry, Stuart was repeatedly called on to give technical and medical presentations from a resource of 650 slides in 10 minutes! His audience, doctors, surgeons, nurses were highly time-pressured and needed to know: quickly. Impossible? No! Stuart was invited back time and time again.

Why?

Because customers felt important. Customers felt their needs were being met. They were engaged and they wanted to hear more. For Stuart, a meeting scheduled for 10 minutes often extended to 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes or more.

The GOOD NEWS is that this technique doesn't just work in pharmaceuticals; it works wherever people interact. We believe it also represents another step forward in customer focussed selling AND IT WORKS.
